TOMMY O'BRIEN

Tommy entered the Steamfitters U.A. Local No. 353 Apprenticeship Program in September 1989 and was initiated in March 1990.  As a fourth generation Steamfitter, the trade runs in his bloodline and he has worked for over 33 years in various roles.  Tommy began serving on the Steamfitters Local 353 Executive Board in 2012 and the Pension Trustee Board in 2013.  In 2015, he began serving as the elected Business Agent and became Business Manager in 2022.  He has 2 shelter dogs, Sonny and Cher.  Tommy enjoys classic and muscle cars, watching Notre Dame (Go Irish!) and Pittsburgh Steelers football.

MIKE HOWARD

Mike was hired as Training Coordinator in 2017 when Patrick “Fuzzy” Faley retired. Mike started his apprenticeship in September 1997 and was initiated into Local 353 in March 1998. He became an instructor at Local 353 in 2008 and graduated from the Instructor Training Program in Ann Arbor Michigan in 2013. At this time, Mike also began teaching for the UA Training Program and is one of only four members on the Industrial Rigging Technical Committee for the UA. Mike has served on the Examining Board and was Vice President before being elected President of Local 353 in 2018. He also currently serves as Treasurer for C.O.T.E. Mike is married to Rhonda and has two children, Chase and Mikayla.

ANITA LUNDGREN

Anita has been serving Local 353 as union secretary since December 2013, providing membership services and apprenticeship program support.  She graduated from Pekin High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College. Her working career has taken her from Boston, Los Angeles, Seattle, Sacramento and Portland, OR and has been back in Pekin for 8 years (no place like home).  She has 2 sons, Peter, from Pekin; and Andy, who lives in Portland, OR with his wife and 3 children.  Anita is also involved in a piping industry, but a musical type – the pipe organ.

RON HARRIS

Ronnie began his apprenticeship in November of 2005 and was initiated in November of 2006. He started as an officer directly after his apprenticeship serving on the Examining Board. Since, he has also been on the Executive Board and the Recording Secretary. In November of 2021, Ronnie was appointed to the position of Business Agent. He enjoys representing #353 and is eager to do what he can for the betterment of the local. Ronnie is a 1st generation Steamfitter and lives in Pekin with his wife Jackie. They have two boys, Blake and Damien, and in their free time they enjoy activities like going to sporting events, golfing, and camping. 

DAN MILLER

Dan began his apprenticeship at Steamfitters Local 353 in October 2014 and worked for various local contractors in Peoria. He graduated the apprenticeship program in 2019 and went on to be a welding instructor in 2020. Dan was appointed to the Welding committee in 2018, and later was appointed to the Examining Board in 2020. After working as a journeyman steamfitter for multiple years, he left the field to be a full-time welding instructor for Local 353 in Peoria. Dan married Brittany in 2017 and they have 2 children, Owen and Lucy and their dog, Dozer. With his free time Dan likes fishing, video games and spending time with his wife and kids.

DAYNA STREENZ

Dayna started working with the Steamfitters Local 353 in February 2022 as the Union Bookkeeper.  She has a bachelor’s in business administration and associates in business computer accounting from Midstate College.  Dayna lives in Pekin with her son, Owen and dog, Samantha.  In her free time, she serves on two Board of Officers for a nonprofit organization, and she enjoys volunteering and spending time with friends and family.
